Day 3

It's been a long time since I fasted, I forgot how hard it is not to eat, but I can say that I definitely sense the spiritual benefits and it is well worth it as I was starting to feel very complacent in my walk with the Lord. I can not a live a mediocre christianity, I must have all that God has and I am very excited to see what our church is doing as a whole. Allowing myself to become part of a body that really is involved in each others lives is a big step for me, but I am ready to move forward. My wife Robin and I had a really good prayer time last night, the best we have had in a long time. As a part of this time, we incorporated nightly devotionals with each other which I must add that God has put that on my heart for a couple years and I have tried to get started a couple times but I am committed to make this continue as it seems that we get the best results with God when we OBEY God. It seems that any time my relationship with the Lord seems to be getting stale, that I can trace it back to me not doing what God told me to do. The awesome thing is that all we have to do when we feel stale is to think on what God last told us to do and DO IT! God is graceful and merciful and eager for us to move forward and quick to respond to our obedience. I think of how proud I am with my own daughter when she chooses to obey. I do not make her wait to see the positive results of her right decisions. I thank God for his patience with us and His quickness to take us to another level when we choose to obey.
For us to move forward as a body , we will have to step out of our comfort zone and use the gifts that God has given for the edification of the body. It will look different maybe than what we are use to. I always remember the popular saying of the definition of insanity.. to continue to do the same things over and over but expect different results. This helps me in my own life. If I want a different life , then I must do different things. If we want an Acts church where signs and wonders and miracles are taking place then we gotta be those people that do that. These signs follow those that believe. If our church looks like Jesus and we do what Jesus did and even greater things he said we will do then the church will explode and we won't even have enough rooom to contain them as they pour in. The world is hungry and lost as well as alot of churches and they are searching. We can be that church that truly allows God to move and meet the needs of His people. Hallelujah!
