I have spent a bit of time in prayer during these 2 weeks. Today I was wondering out loud to God -"Do you really want me to bug you this many times a day for the things I am believing with each person who filled out a Prayer Request Card. I know if I had asked my earthly Dad multiple times in one day for the same things his patience would have been expired and sent me to consider my behavior somewhere not with in hearing range. But I persisted on with God.
Tonight as I was reading a note before heading off to bed, I was reminded that God does want us to continue to present our requests. In fact, Jesus taught us that, like the widow who cries out for justice or the annoying neighbor who knocks on our door after bed time to borrow something, he wants us to be persistent with him about our needs. So let's have a bunch of us knocking on His Door or crying out - he is expecting to hear from us. I believe He is looking for some fervent prayers. I know the people on staff are lifting up the church body for these next 2 weeks. To make a time that we could pray corporately, we have scheduled an evening prayer time Friday the 20th at 7:00pm. Wouldn't it be great if all of us who are committed to these 30 days put in on the schedule and Bugged God together. Hope to see you there and we can be pests together! I can't wait to see what God is and will be doing in our families.
